How To Make Your Printer Ink Glow
Have you been looking for a new, fun way to take some of your latest creations to the next level? Look no further. With glowing printer ink, its fun and easy to make cards, newsletters, party or holiday decorations, signage, and even t-shirts. Your creativity is the only limitation, and the cool thing about glowing ink is that it works on normal printer paper. Use whatever you have lying around.
Many different companies sell glow-in-the-dark ink, but when you make it yourself you can add your own craftiness!
You’ll have to make a couple shopping stops in order to make the glowing ink cartridge on your own. At your local craft store (or the craft section of a retail store), buy some glow-in-the-dark powder. Ensure that you have an ink cartridge refill kit. If you don’t, you can pick one up at an office supply store or online. Make sure that your printer is compatible with this kit. Finally, you’ll need a syringe so that you can transfer the ink back-and-forth between the ink cartridge and your mixing bowl.
When you have all the necessary supplies, mix ¼-teaspoon of glow-in-the-dark powder with 3 teaspoons of printer ink in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the mixture for about 30 seconds and make sure that the powder is corporated into the mixture well. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Use the syringe to pick up all the ink mixture and transfer it back into your empty ink cartridge. Use the syringe to put the ink into the refill holes that are located on the ink cartridge. It’s a good idea to run a cleaning cycle on your printer before you print your artwork.. Once printed, the ink cartridge will also need to charge a few minutes in the light in order to glow well.
That’s it! You can embrace your creativity and make your projects one of a kind. Halloween decorations seem to be among the most popular projects made with these types of ink cartridge crafts, but there are many other uses – one unique one being summer evening decorations. Adding glow-in-the-dark effects to different ink colors can produce different results. Have fun, be creative, and get ready to see some amazed smiles from your friends and relatives when they see what your artwork!
